Turkey Opens Talks with Chevron for Hydrocarbon Exploration

Turkey is in talks with US energy giant Chevron for potential cooperation in oil and gas exploration. Discussions, between Turkish state company TPAO and Chevron, include seismic surveys and drilling activities, with specific areas yet to be determined. This move is part of Ankara's strategy to increase domestic energy production through partnerships with international groups. Chevron already has a presence in the Eastern Mediterranean, while TPAO operates in various regions, including the Black Sea, Iraq and Somalia. These talks align with strengthening energy cooperation between Turkey and the US, as TPAO recently agreed with ExxonMobil for joint research.
