Unstable Weather in Cyprus: Rain, Storms, and Potential Snow

Cyprus is experiencing unstable weather today, Friday, due to the influence of a disturbance. Localized increased cloud cover, rain, and isolated thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the mountainous and southwestern parts of the island. There is a possibility of snow or sleet on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will strengthen temporarily, while temperatures will remain close to the seasonal average. Specifically, rain is expected to begin in the north and inland today, while later rain and thunderstorms will be concentrated mainly in the mountains and southwest. Winds will be variable, light to moderate, with strengthening in the east and later across the island. The sea will be generally up to slightly rough. Tonight, the weather will improve and become mainly clear, with temporary increased cloud cover on the east and southwest coasts. Winds will blow from the northwest to northeast, light to moderate. The temperature will drop significantly, especially in the mountains where frost is expected. Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be mainly clear, with a slight rise in temperature on Sunday. On Monday, localized increased cloud cover in the afternoon may bring light rain south of Troodos, while on Tuesday the weather will remain mainly clear.
